When You Want Sophisticated, This is Your Ticket.
I grew up using American Crew's Pomade and throughout my teenage years I started using gels. As I got older I began to question how mature gels looked. They always gave you spiky, hard hair which was more fitting for a 16 year old. I went back to the sophisticated American Crew products and they always delivered. I didn't like the Pomade for my hair style, so I used their Fiber and it did the job.Now that the classic hairstyles of the fifties are coming back, people are looking for products that give them this clean and sophisticated look - sleek it turns out is a good name for this Pomade.I have to say, most of the Axe hair products aren't great. This one isn't like any of them. Axe has found a perfect balance of control, shine, and aroma with this product and I'd buy it any day over the more expensive "salon brand" Pomades.Try it, you'll love it.

Can't complain (aside from a slight greasy feel)
Cool container. Enough of the stuff in there to last you a while. Strong hold, too. My only complaint is that it gives a greasier feel than expected, even when using the recommended amount (about the size of a dime) or less.

Better than mousse, gel, and hairspray
I have very finicky hair that includes some turkey tails and awful bed head. My options in the past have been a small amount of mousse or gel or a decent amount of hair spray. I tried this pomade on a whim and couldn't be more impressed. You only need to use a small amount so the container lasts a long time. I've had it about 6 weeks and I'm not even halfway through the container yet. It doesn't get sticky or stiff like hair spray or gels, doesn't make a big mess like gels or mousses, and it allows more natural styling than those other products.If you're the type of person that likes to highly stylize your hair to the point that there's no strands out of place, this probably isn't for you. Maybe one of the other pomades or hairspray/mousse. For those of us that want a more natural and relaxed look, this is perfect.It also smells amazing. You can't smell it that much once you have it in your hair, but your lady friend (or guy friend, sheep friend, etc)...

Okay, let me first start off by saying that I have -Never- bought any axe products before this because I know that they are usually complete crap and they aim towards a tween audience that haven't even reached puberity trying to be older than they really are.One day on a complete whim I decided to try it out and I'm glad I did.It took awhile to get used to it but once I did I really started liking it.It shapes your hair in a clean-cut look without looking like you're using any product. I tried some other axe hair products (shaggy, messy, spiked-up) and they were all junk.This is the only axe gel I would recommend.I might eventually one day go out on another whim and buy a different pomade product and say that this stuff is complete trash but until then this is the best stuff I know of and its pretty affordable.

Surprised
I've used a dozen different sculpting goos, gels, pomades, etc. over the years. I probably have $200 worth of half used and abandoned hair products ranging from Chi all the way up to Bumble & Bumble Sumotech. I was at Walmart the other day and they had it for $6 so I grabbed one for the heck of it. I have to say I was absolutely blown away. I had already decided that it would be the standard store-junk thinking that anything non-salon was terrible. I used this glop one time and the Sumotech went right into the drawer of dead hair-products. I couldn't believe how refined this product was! The smell was pleasant and I didn't feel like I was dipping my fingers into old, sticky Crisco. The texture is more like a soft face cream. I ride my bike to work every day in the Florida heat and when I get there my hair is still intact with no sticky crud running into my eyes. Great stuff
I use this as my main hair cream. It is better than a sticky gel. At the end of the day, I can wet my hands and run my fingers through my hair to rejuvenate it and this stuff still holds like new, but it does not feel like concrete. Very natural and smells nice. A really well made product.

Good product with cheap price
I'm used to salon type stuff and this stuff is 1/3 the price. Works good and smells great. I find you don't have to use too much of it. The best part is that it doesn't leave you're hair looking like a greasy seal. I use this and top off my hair with some ice spiker to get some hard parts to stay.Don't be fooled by the gimmicky commericals,etc. as this is a big name Unilever branded product.

Good light hold -- not too tacky
There is usually a trade-off: something with a strong hold will generally be more noticeable and tacky, while if you are looking for something that you won't feel if you run your fingers through your hair, then you are talking about a lighter hold product. Axe Whatever Messy Look Paste definitely falls in the lighter hold / less tacky group. If you are looking for something that will give your hair a little style then this your product. If you are looking to create convoluted works of art with your hair, then you'll be going through a jar of this in no time and probably not all that happy with the results.Other positives of Axe Whatever Messy Look Paste include a pleasant smell. I only notice it when I put it on...it does not remain an overpowering beacon of fragrance emanating from your head (which begs the question just HOW does it attract that ladies as per the well-known Axe commercials?). And it goes on easily... I rub a little on my fingertips and apply to my towel...

Can't go wrong with it
My husband is a prime candidate for Queer Eye. He cares about his appearance, but he's just completely clueless as to what looks good and how to look good. Best hair product ever!
This really is one of the best hair styling products out there for men. I have wavy hair that when short looks straight but as it starts growing it curls up a little and it gets really hard to control. I've tried all kinds of hair gels, creams, pomades, waxes, etc., and I can surely tell you that this one has worked for me like a charm. I like to have the front of my hair spiked up and this one is the only one that does the work for me. It leaves it straight and the best part is that it can be easily remove with any shampoo. Unlike cements that leave your hair really stiff and in need of a special shampoo to clean it up, this one leaves it with a nice shine and soft, but at the same time, in place. Axe did sure did its work by creating this awesome product for men. For me, there is no other hair styling product better than this one. Try it up, you will surely like it!

Nice surprise
I've used hair gels, specifically Garnier Fructis brand before, and while they held they'd either be too messy or give me a headache (the smell would get to me, thanks a lot Garnier.)I didn't see the commercials for this (still haven't) but saw it and it's other 'styles' at my local Target. I thought why not, and bought a jar.This stuff works just as well as the Garnier, and I'm no longer getting headaches. I've only used this for about a week, but this seems more cost effective since I don't nearly have to use as much as the gels, just a dab on my finger is enough. Smells nice.About the only thing I don't like is that when your hair is damp (it's supposed to be) the putty feels like it's pulling on your hair. Not a deal breaker by any means, but you feel it.Overall, nice stuff and I'll be buying it again.
